Creepiest Songs Ever

Okay, so i was on my twitter today and the phrase #songsthatgivemegoosebumps was trending on the side of my timeline. Now you can take that meaning a bunch of different ways. As in the songs that mean the most to, songs you can relate to, or songs that just have chilling lyrics. But I am going to take this term to the most literal sense. I'm going to show you three songs that will send shivers down your spine when you hear them and that will make you feel that you aren't  alone in the dark anymore.

#1- Tiptoe Through the Tulips by Tiny Tim. There is something about this song that gives me goosebumps. Personally Tim's little shriek that comes up through the song is the most chilling effect. Maybe its the lyrics that seem so peaceful but his voice makes the almost eerily peaceful. Or finally, maybe its the ukulele that belongs no where near Tiny Tim.

#2- Little Boxes by Malvina Reynolds. I find the eeriest thing about this song to be the fact on how right Malvina is about society. This song came out in the 1960's and it still holds true to todays society even though its been about a half century later. Another aspect of this song that makes it so creepy is how her voice goes with the little rhythm of the guitar that doesn't change throughout the song. Reynolds' voice also adds to it too.

#3- Living in the Sunlight by Tiny Tim. AHH and here we go with Tiny again. Well his voice is just as creepy and the effing ukelele is still there. This by far wins the creepiest intro award as Tiny Tim starts talking to you. Listening to it with headphones on just puts a tingle in your spine.

Latest and Greatest

A lot of new music has been recently released, and to go along with that, I have also have found some new artists that I wish I would have known about sooner! So for this post I would like to catch you guys up with all of the great music that has been released lately and some stuff that I just found.

To start us off, it appears that Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang has found its home in the studio lately. Wiz has a album and a new mixtape due out this year, and felt it was necessary to release something new anyway. He had his fellow Taylors Juicy J and Chevy Woods also throw out some new music for the public to hear. Wiz's new song is very... different.

"This song is about acceptance. Not necessarily feelin unaccepted but not really feelin accepted for who you are," said Young Khalifa about his new song

Chevy's knew song brings us classic Woods. In your face rap with sick lyrics and his stocky flow that feels like somebody is punching you in the face with music. Even though I have never been a huge fan of him, Chevy's songs are catchy and the beats he uses always just get me in the mood to do something productive; such as this blog I'm writing right now.

And last but not least, I bring you the newest member of Taylor Gang, former Hollyhood star Juicy J from the Three 6 Mafia. Juicy doesn't disappoint either. His first song for Taylor Gang and he comes in on a great song called "Up" by LoveRance. J's flow is the best its ever been. Spitting fast and flowing the words together, Juicy flows through your body. Wiz and Chevy come in and supply an excellent supporting cast.

I've been on a music rampage lately and it isn't all rap and hip hop. Last weekend my friend showed me a band that i have since fallen in love with and could listen to them for hours and hours of a day. The band's name is Morning Teleportation and I will simply let you the people judge on what you think of them. Keeping this one simple.
Also this could be one of my favorite music videos ever

Artist Spotlight: MGMT

This post I would like to talk about one of my personal favorite bands which goes by MGMT. The reason I have fallen in love with them is they purposely create as much of a unique sound as possible. They don't listen to what mainstream music producers tell them at all. They just love creating their own style.

I also love how they are always themselves and just simply don't care what people think. This may be due to their high consumption of shrooms, but thats besides the point. When on shrooms they are simply just more entertaining. Andrew VanWyngarden could possibly be one of the most interesting human beings on the planet. As you can see in the video below...

The shrooms may or may not help them create their wonderful music. But it is honestly hard not to like the interesting sound that they make. Its hard to explain, it's one of those things where you just have to sit down in a wooded area and listen to them for hours at a time to fully develop an understanding of their music. Some of my favorite songs by them are Kids, A Time to Pretend, Flash Delerium, and Electric Feel. Now go find a forest and sit in it for hours listening to some wonderful music!

Album Review: Symmetry and Ryan Lewis LP
Artist: Symmetry

As my first blog, i would like to talk about the amazing collaboration of Symmetry and Ryan Lewis. This mixtape brings out Symmetry's creative lyrics and different styles. It then combines that with Ryan Lewis's amazing beats and pure originality.

My personal favorite songs from this mixtape are Fireflies and Back in Business.

The first song is Fireflies. This song starts off very soft and sort of slow. Slowly the producer Ryan Lewis introduces more and more additions to the beat. This is a signature style of his. Listening to this songs with a professional headset almost makes you feel as if your floating in the air as the different sounds converge from all directions. This song is more focused on the different sounds than the vocals, but that doesn't stop Symmetry. The vocals are absolutely precise in this song.

The next song is titled Back in Business. On this song, Ryan Lewis brings together a retro sound that seems to come from an old, action movie that featured the police, but thats just my personal opinion. He then combines many new age and modern sounds. Symmetry raps hard over this song using a very particular flow along with clever lyrics that just flow through your head.

The rest of the album is very well put together. Some other great songs from the mixtape are School Days, Down, Make Me Yours, and Pardon Me. I highly recommend this album. Once you get it in your head, it refuses to leave. It just leaves you asking when will these two get back together to create more amazing music.
